Q: How does iCandles Academy benefit me?
A: Gain hands-on candle-making skills you can use creatively, explore for additional income, or build upon as a business opportunity.
Q: What will I learn?
A: Level 1 covers wax, fragrance, wicks, candle construction, formulation, safety, and creative techniques. Level 2 focuses on pricing, sales, marketing, business fundamentals, and establishing an LLC or sole proprietorship.
Q: Do I need previous experience?
A: No. Level 1 starts with the fundamentals. Experienced candles makers who have not completed Level 1 may request a complimentary Level 2 Readiness Review for approval to begin with Level 2.
Q: How long is the program?
A: The program includes 50 hours of hands-on learning across 23 class days, with most sessions lasting 2 hours and extended 3-hour sessions on Thursdays.
Q: Are classes online?
A: Yes. Classes are held live through Zoom, with supplemental video resources available for additional guidance.
Q: What’s included with enrollment?
A: Students receive essential course materials, a candle-making tool kit, safety equipment, thermometer, journal, writing supplies, and a complimentary iCandles Academy T-shirt.
Q: What do I receive after completing Level 1?
A: Students who successfully complete all requirements receive a personalized Certificate of Completion recognizing their wax chemistry training and a White Lab Coat.
Q: What do I receive from Level 2?
A: Students develop applicable business organization documents based on their chosen structure, such as documents for an LLC or sole proprietorship. Government filings, fees, licenses, and professional legal or tax services remain the student’s responsibility.
Q: What is Level 3 — Build & Flourish™?
A: Coming Soon. Level 3 is being developed to help students move from starting a business to building one through guided support with websites, social media, business systems, launch strategy, and mentorship opportunities.
Q: Can I use these skills to earn income or pursue employment?
A: Yes. These skills may support additional income opportunities, entrepreneurship, or work related to candle making, production, retail, and creative manufacturing. Income, employment, sales, and profitability are not guaranteed.
Q: What are the age and class-size requirements?
A: Students must be 18 years or older, and enrollment is limited to 20 students per term.
Q: Where can I find attendance, assessments, withdrawals, refunds, and other policies?
